Dr. Caroline Dessens is a 2010 graduate from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Dr. Dessens has worked in outpatient physical therapy her entire career and has a passion for providing personalized care in each visit, for every patient.

Dr. Dessens’ continuing education has focused on manual therapy techniques, orthopedic care and administration. She is certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Trigger Point Dry Needling (CertDN) and is an APTA Clinical Instructor.

Kavita Mathews began her professional journey as a Web Designer, earning a B.A. in Multimedia from Louisiana College in 2005. After over six years in the tech industry, she decided to switch careers and pursued an Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assisting (PTA) from the same college, graduating in 2013.

During her studies, she met Caroline Dessens, with whom she has now worked closely for nearly 11 years. Kavita thrives on building personal connections with her patients and providing one-on-one care.

In her personal life, Kavita cherishes time spent with family and friends, enjoys reading, watching Turkish shows, and playing word games. Her faith is a central part of her life, as she deeply believes in God's boundless love.

Mallary Smith has recently relocated back to Louisiana, where she got married this past year. In August of 2025, she became a full-time member of the RISE team, where she brings her passion and creativity to her work. In her spare time Mallary enjoys pursuing various art projects and creating lasting memories with her family, embracing this thrilling new chapter in her life.

Amanda is a dedicated healthcare professional with 17 years of experience across multiple specialties, including Pain Management/Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Audiology, and Physical Therapy where I've spent the last six years. As a mother of two college-aged daughters who I'm extremely proud of, I've balanced my career with family life. I've been in a relationship for 4.5 years with a wonderful man and enjoy road trips, motorcycle rides, cross-stitching, and unwinding in my personal time.

Megan Landry is currently a Physical Therapy student at the University of Louisiana Monroe and is set to graduate in May. She will take her Physical Therapy Boards in April and officially join the RISE Physical Therapy team in June. We are excited to welcome her and look forward to the care and compassion she will bring to our patients.
